Jorge Simões is Invited Full Professor at the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine – NOVA University of Lisbon and at the University of Aveiro.
Previously, he was President of the Health Regulatory Agency (2010-2016), was one of the coordinators of the National Health Plan (2009-2010), was Coordinator of the team that studied the process of creation of public-private partnerships (2008-2009), was the President of the Committee for Sustainability of NHS Financing (2006-2007), and served as Advisor of the Portuguese President Jorge Sampaio for health-related matters (1996-2006).
He has published on health policies, health care evaluation, health planning and health regulation, including dozens of articles in several publications, five books as author and seven books as editor/coordinator.
Maria Isabel Loureiro is a Public Health doctor and Full Professor at the National School of Public Health – NOVA University of Lisbon (ENSP-UNL).
Previously, she was the National Coordinator of Health Promotion and Education in School Settings and of the National Network of Health Promoting Schools (1997-2002), directed the Department of Health Promotion and Prevention of Noncommunicable Diseases at the National Institute of Health Dr Ricardo Jorge (2008-2010), and was the President of the Scientific Council of the ENSP-UNL (2011-2015). Currently, at the ENSP-UNL, she coordinates the Department of Health Strategies and is a member of the School Council.
Maria Isabel Loureiro is part of the editorial board in several scientific journals, and has published articles in national and international peer-reviewed publications, books and other articles for a wide audience.
